Spend a Few Moments of Your Life with LushNature
“Happiness Boosted After LushNature Excursion.” This could be the headline of your next newsletter or blog.
On LushNature, we focus on the natural world sprawling out in front of us.
"Focus, albeit briefly, only on the natural world; not in the brain’s imagination. Where you place your attention, you place your energy.”
In other words: Focus your attention exclusively on the LushNature activity at hand, for best results.
Light-hearted, open and inclusive, Socratic, extemporaneous conversations, activities, and “Together/Alone” philosophy enables trip participants to experience mental resets.
LushNature is based on the external and physical; sensing nature and connecting momentarily to beings outside our species!
An expert Naturalist with extensive training from Federal agencies, non-profits, and universities, James Aliberti also possesses well over 17,000 hours of professional and personal work in the field, serving over 15,600 people of all walks of life.
B.A. from UCLA, WAC -- Theatre, Film, and Television
M.S. from Boston University, COM -- Environmental Advocacy

Kindergarten Students who demonstrate understanding can:
K-LS1-1. Use observations to describe patterns of what plants and animals (including humans) need to survive.
K-ESS2-2. Construct an argument supported by evidence for how plants and animals (including humans) can change the environment to meet their needs.
K-ESS3-1. Use a model to represent the relationship between the needs of different plants and animals (including humans) and the places they live.
K-ESS3-3. Communicate solutions that will reduce the impact of humans on the land, water, air, and/or other living things in the local environment.
Grade 1 Students who demonstrate understanding can:
1-LS3-1. Make observations to construct an evidence-based account that young plants and animals are like, but not exactly like, their parents.
Grade 2 Students who demonstrate understanding can:
2-LS2-1. Plan and conduct an investigation to determine if plants need sunlight and water to grow.
2-LS2-2. Develop a simple model that mimics the function of an animal in dispersing seeds or pollinating plants.
2-LS4-1. Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats.
Grade 3 Students who demonstrate understanding can:
3-LS2-1. Construct an argument that some animals form groups that help members survive.
3-LS4-1. Analyze and interpret data from fossils to provide evidence of the organisms and the environments in which they lived long ago.
3-LS4-3. Construct an argument with evidence that in a particular habitat some organisms can survive well, some survive less well, and some cannot survive at all.
3-LS4-4. Make a claim about the merit of a solution to a problem caused when the environment changes and the types of plants and animals that live there may change.
Grade 4 Students who demonstrate understanding can:
4-LS1-2. Use a model to describe that animals receive different types of information through their senses, process the information in their brain, and respond to the information in different ways.

Who Benefits from LushNature Excursions?
Some comments from participants:
|
Sensory Stimulation"I work in tech security, and most days can feel pretty stressful. A trip with LushNature doesn't just have an immediate calming, but it's like, I go back to my office with my eyes wide awake."
-- Wan C. |
Intentional Oversimplification "After my LushNature experience, I started looking at my challenges in the lab from more of what you'd call "a bugs eye-view", and it helped my project progress profusely. So many of the things the naturalist said super-resonated with me." -- Kara P. |
